Welcome to the website Research and Teaching Profiles of Public Universities in Germany. The interactive dashboard provides a systematic long-term perspective on the disciplinary profiles of German universities and their development in research and teaching. Medical subjects are not included in the analysis.

Research and teaching profiles are presented using eight indicators:

• professors,
• non-professorial academic staff,
• basic funding,
• third-party funding,
• Web of Science publications,
• Web of Science citations,
• subject-specific students,
• students in total, including teacher-training students.

The interactive dashboard allows users to compare universities, disciplinary groups and broader academic areas and to examine their development over different periods.
